Privacy Policy

What ReStory Wiki processes, stores, and sends when you browse the site, including analytics, theme preferences, and optional YouTube playback.

This policy describes the data practices implemented by ReStory Wiki as of 3 September 2026. The site has no user accounts, comments, purchases, newsletter, contact form, or advertising system.

Google Analytics 4

Production pages load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) using Google's gtag.js. GA4 receives usage information such as the page visited, referral source, approximate location derived from network information, browser and device details, and interaction timing. Google Analytics may set or read measurement identifiers in browser cookies or similar storage, subject to your browser and Google settings.

Analytics is disabled in the local development environment. ReStory Wiki uses the production analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page performance; the site does not add custom advertising or remarketing trackers.

You can limit this processing with browser privacy controls, content blockers, or Google's Analytics opt-out tools.

Theme preference stored in localStorage

If you switch between light and dark mode, the site stores the value light or dark under the theme key in your browser's localStorage. That value stays on your device and is read only to restore your chosen appearance. It is not sent to ReStory Wiki as part of an account or profile.

Server request processing

The web server and delivery infrastructure necessarily process standard request data to return a page, including your IP address, requested URL, time of request, user-agent, and basic network or error information. The application contains no custom request-logging or user-profile database. Infrastructure providers may retain operational and security logs according to their own settings and policies.

Click-triggered YouTube embeds

The homepage does not auto-load a YouTube player or other third-party video embed. Before you choose the play button, it shows a thumbnail delivered through this site's image optimizer and no YouTube iframe is present.

Only when you click Play the ReStory trailer does the page load the player from YouTube's privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. At that point, YouTube and Google receive your connection information and may process playback data or store browser information under their policies. If you do not play the video, the embedded player is never requested by your browser.

Links to Steam, Steam Community, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Mandragora, tinyBuild, and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. ReStory Wiki does not control what those services collect after you follow a link.

Changes

This page will be updated if the site's actual analytics, storage, forms, embeds, or other data practices change. The effective date at the top will change with it.
